瓢箪（ひょうたん）＝ハワイ語で Ipu（イプ） の形からインスピレーションを得た、イタジメ染めのロングチュニックドレス。
OEKO-TEX認証の100％リネン生地を使用しています。サイドシームポケット付き。前後のシームには小さなリボンが付いており、シルエットの微調整が可能です。
瓢箪（イプ）は、ハワイの歴史や文化の中でとても大切な存在です。
実用面では、食べ物や水を運んだり、身の回りの物を保管する器として使われてきました。また、kani（音） を生み出す楽器として、mele（歌） や hula（フラ） の伴奏にも用いられます。
精神的な意味では、瓢箪は生命の誕生や繁栄を象徴する存在として、創世や子孫繁栄の物語の比喩としても語られてきました。
イタジメ（板締め）染め は、日本の伝統的な染色技法のひとつです。
布を何度も折り重ね、板や型などの固い物で挟んで染めることで、染料が染み込まない部分を作り出し、幾何学的で大胆な模様が生まれます。タイダイ染めに似ていますが、糸で縛るのではなく、板などで圧力をかける点が特徴です。

伝統的な 板締め染め（itajime） と 型染め（katazome） のインディゴ染色を組み合わせ、手作業による防染技法によって瓢箪のモチーフが浮かび上がります。
一点ごとに生まれる変化やリズム、そして手仕事ならではの美しさを大切にしています。

Inspired by the shape of Gourd = Ipu pattern Itazime long tunic style dress, made with OEKO tex certified 100% linen fabric. Side seam pocket, adjustmenttiny ribbon on the front and back seam.
 
The gourd, otherwise described as ipu, contains a holistic role within Hawaiian history and culture. Physically, the ipu can be used to carry food and water or store personal items. It can also be used to produce kani (sound) for mele (song) and hula (dance).
Spiritually, the ipu has been used as a significant metaphor in procreation stories.
 
*Itazime is an old Japanese method of creating patterns in dyeing, somewhat similar to tie-dye. But instead of using string or thread to compress the fabric in places to prevent the dye liquor from penetrating, solid objects called resists are clamped onto it. The fabric is first folded repeatedly, resulting in bold geometric patterns.

Using traditional itajime and katazome indigo dyeing, the gourd motif emerges through hand-bound resist techniques, celebrating variation, rhythm, and the beauty of hand-crafted fabric.
